Treat
yourself to this unique, romantic and exquisite retreat with a
dash of originality.
It offers the comfort and refinement you would expect.
This boutique BnB is sophisticated and of architectural interest, but the
views of the garden
and surrounds are also wonderful, as is the food.
The bedrooms are to dream about.
You'll find the
public rooms are superbly furnished with leather, antiques,
original art and rugs.
There are views far and near.
Lovely curved walls, endless slate floors interrupted
by wooden floors,
many lights and fine music systems, plus at least 100
windows and walls
of French doors
to better enjoy
the Wisteria covered terrace.
A butlers pantry, where the first light breaks in the morning and
reflects on the granite counter
(through little windows you can see the
lemon tree and herb
garden) perhaps this is where our wine cooler will
come in handy
to chill the wine you
brought for a picnic. Here is where
you also get your first cup of coffee
with the local paper, to be
followed
by a delicious gourmet breakfast served in the dining room by
the chef.
In
the furnished solarium is an antique Persian bridge rug
over
dark green
slate with plants along French doors.
There is also a
Multi-media /TV/Game room with eight doors for privacy.
The
huge house with its towers and steps is
magnificent enough,
but also enjoy the quiet on the all fenced property where your
search for
privacy is over,
house and garden
together were
designed for
peace.
There
are six and a half acres for walks, and a guided path with
little
lights leading to a gazebo in the woods.
One can be on an intricate sitting deck under mature
Maples and
Madrones near the flat stone
pyramid
where a little Zen garden with
its fishpond splashes happily as birds fluff and drink from
two
granite water sculptures.
Oaks rustle in the breeze as fish swim and water lilies float
near well
maintained Pines, with a rockery and stone bench.
Please sit here to inhale a different pace of life.
Small Maples are
tucked away by the Rhododendrons and Azaleas.
Here careful use of
color, but mainly
of green and white,
makes for
elegance and a feeling of serenity.
Or go
on to the natural landscape of descending crescent cement
wall
gardens of Iris, berries, grapes and a
small strip of lawn
shaded by mature trees. As
you meander you will pass a moss
and fern garden leading to the
natural landscaping interlaced
with
the professionally landscaped garden of mature Dogwood, Magnolia,
Hydrangeas
and the Mediterranean entry garden of formal
and seasonal plants.
The 7200 sq. ft outdoor building can be used for Bocce ball, horseshoes and indoor exercise year
round.
Massage by appointment. Double massage with wine upon request.
The roots of Modern
Architecture are represented in this Art Deco Mansion.
Elegant yet simple with
flowing lines and curves. It was designed by Michael Brisson
and
shows Mediterranean influence in its step roofs, reversing on
the inside,
flat roofs, unnecessary ornamentation.
A simple more functional form
was used, which in this case was crescent,
bringing the outside in and the inside out.
At any rate, the design makes for great star gazing from the
front patio.
